Xerox Corp. is cutting some of its local finance positions in a companywide effort to reduce costs.
A small number of positions in Monroe County will be affected, but employees have not yet been notified of any specific job reductions, Xerox spokesman Bill McKee said.
The move is part of what Xerox officials presented at its investor conference in November. At the conference, they laid out plans to pursue a multiyear initiative where some work is done in regional geographies and other work is done in lower-cost locations, he said.
At the conference, Xerox officials said the company had moved roughly 4,000 jobs to lower-cost areas, and expects to at least double that number in 2014.
