Celebrating their 20th anniversary, SalesChain sits in their headquarters on top of hills overlooking the country in scenic Waterbury Ct. It was time to find out What’s Happenin’ with this well-known industry software company so we took a trip east!

Upon our arrival, SalesChain President and CEO Tim Szczygiel welcomed us and gave us a tour of their facility. The views were amazing and with lots of windows and natural light, the offices were a nice place to spend our day visiting.

SalesChain is a business automation software company focused on the office equipment reseller community. They’ve grown up building and designing software to be used by copier dealers. Many of you already use SalesChain and even more have probably heard of them over the years.

The SalesChain solution helps dealers automate and control the sales process, from adding a new prospect to the CRM to designing effective, professional-looking proposals in a matter of minutes and more.

What’s nice about this CRM versus a solution designed to work with all sales organizations in all industries is that these guys know what copier dealers need and want.

Automatic updates occur when OEMs add new copiers and printers, making sure pricing and brochures are available for the sales person. The dealer doesn’t have to do anything, their hardware portfolio updates automatically! Try that with SalesForce.

Then there’s the integration with ERP systems most dealers use like ECi and FORZA. Integration with leasing companies like GreatAmerica and virtually all others major loaning institutions in this space make SalesChain extremely flexible.

Their software seems to work with just about everyone that dealers partner with. Indeed, they now offer a new ConnectWise integration, building on an already massive portfolio of connectors.

One of SalesChain’s main benefits is the fact that they often allow dealers to discontinue several costly monthly subscriptions for services that are included in this program. An example of this is their embedded e-signature software that allows dealers using SalesChain to eliminate subscriptions to e-signature services like DocuSign.

When chatting with Tim about their customers, he had a long list of dealers you all know and at some point, he’ll possibly publicize, but for now we’re not sharing. Ask around, chances are you know another dealer already using this service and they probably love it.

SalesChain has undergone steady growth over the last few years, even during the pandemic. Tim’s son Matt joined the company about two years ago, taking over the marketing and other aspects of the management duties.

More recently Kimberly Young signed on towards the end of 2021, bringing over 10 years of SaaS enterprise sales experience to the team. Many of you have probably already heard from her!

SalesChain operates out of two facilities, with the bulk of admin, helpdesk and development taking place from the Waterbury HQ location.

Being developed here in the US has its benefits. While it might not be the most cost-effective way to build software, keeping a single team under one roof, focused on one type of customer has allowed the SalesChain service to grow hand in hand with the dealers’ needs over the years.

The product is extremely comprehensive, yet easy enough that any rookie sales rep will be up and running in no time. I can’t imagine having software like this when I sold copiers, it would have been incredibly helpful.

Our 6-hour visit flew by. We enjoyed our day in CT and we learned a lot about this impressive dealer automation software. It was great spending time with this family run company and if you’re looking for a CRM that works with your incumbent workflow, give these guys a call!
