FAIRBANKS—Gov. Sean Parnell announced on Monday that his administration has filed a claim against the private company accused of providing chronically late and inaccurate payments to health providers that serve Medicaid patients over the past year.
The Department of Health and Social Services filed a claim against Xerox for “failing to timely and adequately implement the system and failing to timely and accurately pay Alaska providers.”

Xerox took over the payment system last year. Since then, health providers, both big hospitals and small one-person providers, have complained about delayed and inaccurate payment as well as an understaffed customer service center. Some say they’re owed tens of thousands in bills while other providers have shut their doors.
