An affiliate of Xerox Corp. (NYSE: XRX) will be cutting 67 job positions in October at a business-services call center in north Raleigh, according to a WARN notification filed with the state last week.

The call center at 2641 Sumner Blvd. in Raleigh is one of the largest call centers for Xerox Business Services’ commercial-solutions group, which Xerox took over as part of its acquisition of Affiliated Computer Services in early 2010.

The company in 2009 was hiring for 150 job positions at the Sumner Boulevard center, and Xerox spokesman Bill McKee says the company still employs about 1,700 people in Raleigh.

Xerox employs another 1,600 people in Cary and in Durham, McKee says, and 4,400 employees total in North Carolina.

Xerox Business Services in January renewed its lease for 155,000 square feet of office space at the Crescent Green business park in Cary, signaling a commitment to maintain those operations in the Triangle.
