Xerox Corporation has partnered with Stonehill College to create The Xerox STEM Transfer Scholarship Fund which will be awarded annually to community college transfer students who are entering their junior year at Stonehill with a declared major in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). The scholarship is funded by a seven-year commitment of $85,300 from Xerox that begins this year.

“This scholarship fund provides transfer students majoring in STEM fields the assistance necessary to make continuing their education at Stonehill possible,” said Assistant Professor of Biology Rachel Hirst ’98, who also oversees the Science Transfer Initiative at Stonehill. “The overall goal of the Science Transfer Initiative is to smooth the transition for STEM transfers by offering advising, financial assistance, and mentoring throughout their time at Stonehill.  Generous donations from supporters like Xerox are instrumental in the continued success of the program and its participants,” she added.
