Xerox Corp.’s five-year, $100 million contract to manage TxTag toll billing is under fire by lawmakers.
State leaders are learning as many as 3.5 million TxTag transactions were not billed on time. As a result, officials with the Texas Department of Transportation are waiving late fees associated with the aged transactions. Nearly 30,000 people received paper bills when their electronic TxTag should have covered the toll, according to several reports this morning, and other issues have been raised at the Capitol by legislators such as Sen. Kirk Watson, D-Austin.
