Nevada’s rocky marriage with Xerox ended Tuesday after the state dumped the embattled contractor of its health insurance exchange.

The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange board cited Xerox’s performance as the reason for dropping the contractor.

This includes potentially finding another contractor to work on the service. Consumers will still access the exchange through Nevada Health Link,www.nevadahealthlink.com.

“The board decided to utilize the federal IT infrastructure for enrollment … starting in the November enrollment period,” Bawden said. “The board also left open options to solicit requests for proposal to implement a different system for the 2015 enrollment period.”
