Leon Mordoh has passed away. While I didn’t personally know him, I’m told my dad did after spending time with him at one of HPS’s events back in the 1990s. Click here to see the obituary. The following was sent to me about Leon from Jim McMeel of Compass.

Leon started at HPS (Hoosier Photo Supply) in the 1960’s as a technician and rapidly climbed the ranks.  He was offered a chance to buy in to the company and quickly jumped on the opportunity.

Leon owned HPS Office Systems (Savin and Toshiba dealer) and grew it to over 100 employees with multiple branch locations.  Leon was one of the early members of the Copier Dealers Association (CDA).

I joined Leon in 1985 as a copier sales rep and was with him through February 2004 as Vice President and General Manager.  Leon and I had the opportunity to work together again when I rejoined the company from 2009 through 2011 (then, Toshiba Business Solutions Indiana) as Vice President and General Manager.

He was a great man.  A great mentor.  And an incredible friend who always put others first.
