MELVILLE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc. (CIIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., and Gold-level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced it has achieved Oracle Validated Integration of its Enterprise Imaging Platform (EIP) with Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1.

XeroxNARS_cubeFNL_300x250_DefTo achieve Oracle Validated Integration, Oracle partners are required to meet a stringent set of requirements that are based on the needs and priorities of the customers. The EIP offering for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne enables customers to manage accounting processes that require integration of information from paper and digital documents. Companies can benefit not only from cost-savings and increased efficiencies but also gain business intelligence by bringing together vital information across JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and various other back-end systems, such as ECM, CRM and paper-based or electronic documents, such as invoices and sales orders.

Supporting today’s announcement, Oracle OpenWorld 2013 attendees will have the opportunity to see Canon Information and Imaging Solutions demonstrate its EIP integration with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne at its booth in Moscone South #2001 as well as in the JD Edwards Pavilion. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend speaking sessions led by Greg Ryan, senior director marketing, Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, and Dennis Amorosano, senior director, Canon U.S.A. Solutions Marketing and Canon Information and Imaging Solutions Professional Services.

“Oracle Validated Integration applies a rigorous technical review and test process,” said Chris Baker, senior vice president, ISV, OEM and Java Sales, Oracle. “Achieving Oracle Validated Integration through Oracle PartnerNetwork gives our customers confidence that the integration between Enterprise Imaging Platform and Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 has been validated and that the products work together, as designed. Furthermore, this integrated offering demonstrates the power of using repeatable software architectures to execute Internet of Things solutions.”

Screen Shot 2013-09-24 at 2.23.10 PMThe EIP integration with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne focuses on automating invoice processing (Accounts Payable), as well as automating sales order processing and customer billing (Accounts Receivable). EIP streamlines these processes by automatically capturing, processing, classifying and indexing data from documents, such as invoices and sales orders. The platform uses this information to update JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and validate data from documents, as well as produce and print professional invoices that follow complex formatting rules. In addition to incorporating traditional enterprise application service-oriented architecture (SOA)-based adapters and BPEL integration to leading enterprise content servers such as Oracle’s WebCenter Content, EIP also contains imaging-based adapters that can control document related functions, such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), PDF creation, forms creation, and format conversion.

“Paper and electronic documents play a crucial role in accounting processes, as well as in various other organizational functions,” said Satoshi Nagata, president, Canon Information and Imaging Solutions. “Canon is proud to achieve Oracle Validated Integration, which confirms EIP’s ability to bring significant benefits to Oracle’s JD Edwards’ customers. We are also happy to further strengthen our relationship with Oracle.”

Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc. is also noting significant partner traction related to the roll out of its Enterprise Imaging Platform, forming relationships with numerous systems integrators, including Estuate and L&T Infotech, in addition to several others announced on July 9th. EIP is already used to automate business processes associated with accounts payable and receivables for Canon U.S.A., reducing the time necessary to generate and process the company’s invoices by 400 percent.
