HOUSTON — November 20, 2015 — As workplace technologies grow and evolve, office equipment and service providers are faced with new challenges to evolve their offerings to meet the changing industry. To meet that challenge head-on, three Texas office technology companies have merged to become Function4, a new workflow advisory and office equipment supplier outfitted for leading edge technologies.
Beaumont-based Star Graphics, Digitec Office Solutions from Houston, and Office Equipment Center from Paris, Texas, combined more than 100 years of experience to form Function4. The move was motivated by the fast-growing technologies that are becoming available to the workplace, according to Paul Skinner, Function4 principal and owner of Star Graphics.
“By combining the size and strengths of our three companies, we’re now able to deliver new technologies we didn’t have the depth to maintain before. This means new, improved service offerings and added value for our customers,” Skinner said.
“Technology in the office space is rapidly changing. It is focused on automating and streamlining processes relating to document workflow from creation to destruction,” Skinner said.
“This merger is a perfect marriage of resources – it allows us to provide these new and expanding technologies in a way that is integrated with our current hardware offerings.”
The new Function4 will continue to sell and lease office products like copiers, printers and document management software while focusing heavily on the advisory aspect of the industry. The shift, they anticipate, will also create new jobs for tech-savvy sales and IT representatives in the Beaumont, Houston and Paris markets.
