Sharp has created an area on their website where they are making a direct play for any Ricoh customers that may have been left without account management through the recent changes Ricoh has undergone.

Using the headline, Abandoned By Ricoh the web page let’s visitors compare current Ricoh models with Sharp MFPs. The independent competitive reports were developed by BLI.

These reports are obviously created for the purpose of showing Sharp advantages, but they do present visitors with compelling arguments on the strength of the Sharp MFPs when compared to these models based on what categories were shown.

I haven’t personally heard of customers being left unmanaged, but it is an interesting and aggressive move for Sharp, who has generally been a bit more conservative in the past. They are certainly firing one across the collective Ricoh bow.
