GreatAmerica: A Pillar of Support in the Ride for Jillian and Veterans

By Andy Slawetsky – The success of any charitable endeavor often hinges on the commitment and support of its backers. In the case of the Ride for Jillian and Veterans, GreatAmerica not only stood as a sponsor but as a veritable pillar, steadfastly supporting the Patriots Pack throughout their northern U.S. journey. Their involvement speaks volumes about their dedication to community, social responsibility, and the unwavering belief in the power of collective action.

GreatAmerica wasn’t just a name on a sponsor’s banner; their involvement was comprehensive and heartfelt. Throughout the ride, members of the GreatAmerica family offered their support in diverse and impactful ways. Jennie Fisher and Kim Louden, for instance, did not remain bystanders. They donned their biker gear, hitting the road with the same vigor and passion as the other riders, truly embodying the spirit of the journey. Jennie even spent a good deal of time on the back of her husband Scott’s bike as part of the Pack caravans. Other GreatAmericas, were on the ground, contributing actively to the event’s success (Carrie, Chris, Tawnya, Josie…so many others!)

One of the ride’s most anticipated stops was final visit to the state-of-the-art facility of GreatAmerica in Cedar Rapids, IA. Here, riders were not only greeted with warm smiles and cheers but were also presented with a substantial donation to the Jillian Fund. This generous contribution of $10,000 was one of three such sizable donations received during the ride, underscoring GreatAmerica’s unwavering commitment to the cause.

The concluding events at GreatAmerica were nothing short of spectacular. The final dinner, sponsored by the company, was not just a meal, but a celebration of achievements, shared memories, and an ode to the indomitable spirit of the riders. It was an evening graced by the presence of George Gorman of the Jillian Fund, who added depth to the gathering with his touching words and reflections.

As the curtains drew on the Ride for Jillian and Veterans, the role played by GreatAmerica shone brightly. Their commitment transcended financial support. They were deeply invested, emotionally and logistically, providing riders with moments of rest, reflection, and rejuvenation. Their facilities served as havens, their team as friends and cheerleaders, and their contributions as fuel for the cause.

In the chronicles of the Patriots Pack rides, GreatAmerica will forever be remembered not just as a sponsor but as a partner in every sense of the word. Their involvement was a testament to their values, their belief in the power of community, and their dedication to making a difference. In the Ride for Jillian and Veterans, GreatAmerica wasn’t just a company; they were family.
