Sharp Electronics recently held its first major dealer conference since before the pandemic, attracting around 1,000 attendees to Las Vegas from April 18-21.

The event brought together copier dealers, vendors and Sharp employees to focus on executing the company’s five-year strategy and exploring new opportunities in the industry.

With the theme “Opportunity Meets Execution,” the conference aimed to provide dealers with tools to become more strategic providers for their customers.

Mike Marusic, President and CEO of Sharp Electronics, emphasized the importance of adapting to change and executing a clear strategy with unparalleled customer service and support in his speech.

He discussed the challenges faced during the pandemic and how the company adjusted its tactics to maintain its core strategy. Marusic also highlighted the impact of AI on document and content management systems, but stressed that people and relationships remain essential.

Shane Coffey, VP of Product Planning at Sharp Electronics, spoke about the need for dynamic products and a broad range of offerings to create greater value for dealerships. He introduced new products such as a line of value-priced displays, projectors, and new monochrome and color digital presses, as well as enhancements to the Polaris Pro production printer. Attendees were given the chance to see these new products up close during a two-day product fair.

Industry Analysts’ Andy Slawetsky provided a video walkthrough of the product fair, offering an in-depth look at the various products showcased and feedback from attendees. The event focused on digital presses, office hardware, and AV technology, providing an informative overview of the latest innovations from Sharp Electronics.

Key announcements from the event included a strategic collaboration between Sharp and ConnectWise, aimed at delivering secure and efficient managed services through their channel partner networks.

The first offering from this partnership is a managed Print Security Service for Sharp devices, providing unique visibility into print security.

Overall, the dealer conference showcased Sharp’s commitment to innovation, execution, and supporting its dealers in the ever-changing landscape of the copier, AV, and content management industries.
