London, England – 15 November 2013 – Dozens of printers from across the UK are benefiting through professional advice and business tools to enable their businesses to grow profitably. The practical seminarsare being organised by Konica Minolta as part of its commitment to the print industry and next year’s Ipex.

Konica Minolta, working with Print Future and its own business development programme, Digital 1234, is delivering a series of high quality seminars – five in total – that have allowed printing company bosses to reflect and analyse on their business processes and work on new initiatives.

A dozen companies of differing size and type attended the inaugural educational event last week (12 November) in the City of London at St Bride’s, which is steeped in the history of the printing industry. The other events are at Bristol on 19 November, Nottingham on 26 November, Warrington on 3 December and Livingston, Scotland, on 11 December.

One of the attendees, Mark McIvor, Managing Director of Printforce.com, said: “It was a great insight. Much of what I learned will be extremely helpful going forward in shaping our thoughts and capabilities. We are providing a lot of marketing services as part of our interactions with customers, so why not sell them as a service ourselves! The advice we received will also be useful background for when we write our new business strategy.”

Another delegate, Paul Horseman, the Finance Director at Halstan, said: “This was useful in that it brought to life a lot of the opportunities available in the industry today. We are expanding further into web-to-print arena and there was helpful insight into some complementary added value services we could offer to help our customers achieve their aims.”

The workshops focus on business planning, production efficiency, sales and business development, and adding new services. Customer case studies and other testimonials featuring good business practice are also part of the programmes that link into Konica Minolta’s successful Digital 1234 initiatives.

Stuart Sutherland, Business Development Manager for Nova Direct, said: “The workshops very informative and it was refreshing to see a company genuinely caring about the success of its clients. There were a great number of learning points that we took away from the event. I am looking forward to working through the various action plans that will be generated.”

Mark Hinder, Konica Minolta’s Production Printing Market Development Manager, said: “The feedback has been brilliant. But spaces are filling up quickly so people wanting to attend need to register as soon as possible. These great educational programme initiatives that align with our Digital 1234 support programmes will enable printers to determine their future growth strategies and opportunities through identifying key priorities in a changing market space.”

He added: “The practical workshops are another example of Konica Minolta’s unwavering commitment to the print industry in the run-up to Ipex where we are so proud to be the largest single exhibitor.”
