In December of 2016, Dynamic Computing Solutions, an independent software developer in Maryland received a second-place award out of 247 entries in Samsung’s “Eureka! Beyond Printer” contest for its PerfectScan© entry. The “Eureka! Beyond Printer” contest sought new ideas and success stories that could be used to improve the customer experience with the Smart UX products. The Samsung evaluation team, consisting of Product Planning, Solution PM, and Marketing, gave high points to PerfectScan in Eureka based on criteria such as creativity, productivity improvement, conciseness of description and number of “Likes” earned in the site. There has never been a PC software solution that takes image files scanned on MFPs and re-processes and improves them at the desktop! This saves customers both time and money by reducing return trips to the MFP to re-scan difficult originals. Other image processing solutions are limited to accepting input through a direct connection to the scanning device using Twain or ISIS drivers. Perfectscan© can be connected to a scanning device, but can also open image files like TIFS, JPEGs, and PDFs created from a variety of different sources. This capability gives customers the ability to process images from MFPs, smart phones, document scanners, and digital SLR cameras. In addition, customers can also use Perfectscan© to process images sent to them from business associates and customers. Loan applications, legal discovery, and other electronic images received from external sources can be processed.
