Konica Minolta had previously been distributing its office equipment in Thailand through local firms. In light of high expectation for further economic growth and increasing demand, it became essential to formulate a sales strategy to meet the specific needs in the Thai market better and thoroughly focus on the local customers, it says.

The new subsidiary is Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Thailand) Co (BTH).

On April 25, BTH concluded with Inter Far East Engineering Public Company, Thai distributor of Konica Minolta, a business-transfer agreement under which Inter Far East Engineering’s office-equipment business was transferred to BTH. The agreement is subject to approval by Inter Far East Engineering shareholders at an extraordinary meeting on June 3. The transaction is expected to become effective on July 1.
