BUFFALO, N.Y. — When Copier Fax Business Technologies was founded in 1990, the company sold two main products.

“Copiers and fax machines. That was the hot item. Everybody was using copiers,” said the company’s business technologies president, Al Scibetta.

But that business phase was short-lived. Just five years later, technology changed the company forever.

“In 1995 was the beginning of the digital era of copiers. And that’s when copiers became more than copiers. They became printers. They became scanners. They became the fax machines,” Scibetta said.

Scibetta and his wife Andrea watched their business change since then. Their son David joined the company in 1997, and the company soon began what it trademarked as “Documentelligence” – using technology to make document management easier for customers.
