By Andy Slawetsky – Canon USA hosted their second Dealer Road Show of the year from June 19 to 21 in Nashville, TN, following their initial event earlier this year in Las Vegas. The three-day event attracted around 400 attendees from major dealerships nationwide, including DEX, UBEO, Marco, Novatech, LDI Connect and many others.

In all, about 90 dealers were represented at this conference.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome reception on the first evening, setting the tone for the insightful sessions to come. On the following morning, long-time Canon employee EVP Mason Olds addressed the audience, reviewing Canon’s year and identifying the firm’s primary strengths, including service, production, wide format, enterprise, print management solutions like uniFLOW Online from NT-ware, hybrid work solutions and of course, their solid partnerships.

Set in the auditorium affiliated with the renowned Country Music Hall of Fame, the Canon Summit 2023 was structured around four tracks: Sales, Solutions, Production and Service. Each track offered hands-on sessions, application training, competitive insights, live product demonstrations and industry-specific sales tactics based on vertical markets.

The technology showcase spotlighted numerous Canon partners and programs. A few noteworthy features included PosterArtist, Canon’s intuitive layout technology; Hybrid Workplace solutions; label solutions; the Colorado M-Series; robotic solutions like Whiz, Canon’s robot vacuum cleaner and AMLOS, Canon’s sophisticated collaboration solution.

Olds presented a review of Canon’s financials, stating that the Americas are the largest source of Canon revenue. He noted Canon’s continuous investment in R&D, underlined by its ranking as the fifth largest US patent holder in 2022 for the 37th consecutive year

Sam Yoshida, EVP and GM Manager for Canon U.S.A., Inc. and Chairman and CEO of Canon Solutions America and Canon Financial Services, followed Dazo’s presentation, offering a warm welcome to attendees and highlighting key elements from the event.

After the morning sessions, attendees dispersed into their respective tracks for hands-on sessions.

The day concluded at the Country Music Hall of Fame, where participants enjoyed an evening filled with live music, food, and tours of the museum.

The event continued into the next morning with more learning sessions, wrapping up after lunch on the final day.
