The Tax Stamps & Traceability Forum in the exhibition hall in Malta attracts about 300 visitors from 50 countries every year. The LabelSystems from POLAR Mohr are well known – due to the change in the law of tax label dimensions, the LabelSystem SC-25 is in particular focus.
With just over 100 companies and government organisations represented and around 300 visitors, the Tax Stamp & Traceability Forum is a manageable event. The topic, however, is explosive: The focus of the fair, which takes place from 16 to 18 May in Malta, is the security of trade in excisable products such as tobacco, spirits, wine and beer. The forum offers an exchange between product and tax brand manufacturers, traders, authorities and other stakeholders. It will cover topics such as the illicit trade of such products, national and international initiatives against it, various new technologies to enhance security and case studies.
New formats for revenue stamps
An important topic is certainly the extension of the labelling obligation as well as the new dimensional requirements for revenue stamps. Whereas revenue stamps were previously required in the 20x42mm format, they will have to be smaller, 12x32mm, from 2024.
This new format poses new challenges for printers, as further processing in particular will become complex. POLAR Mohr presents their so-called “Tax Label Solution” at the trade fair: the SC-25 die cutter can cut the smallest formats from a size of 11x30mm without any problems and also impresses with up to 26 cycles per minute, an extremely precise measuring system and a duo bander. POLAR Mohr can be found at the trade fair at stand E6.
