Carolina Business Equipment of Columbia SC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony January 23 to celebrate the opening of their new warehouse at their HQ.

For the last several years, most companies in the office technology industry have moved towards a just-in-time model, but with the recent lessons learned from supply chain disruptions, companies like CBE are doubling down on inventory.

President John Eckstrom explained that being able to deliver equipment within 24 hours if needed gives CBE an advantage against someone with delivery times of a week or more (or even months these days).

CBE is an old school copier and printer company and a walk through their showroom provided no shortage of recognizable brands such as HP, Epson, Sharp, Toshiba and others. A giant MyQ sign sends a strong print management message to customers as they come through that room.

Walking next door, we leave the traditional copier company and enter their managed services building. This state-of-the-art facility contains their team dedicated to network design, cyber security, document management and more.

The main office where they monitor their MNS accounts looked like something out of a science fiction movie. A huge team watches over their customers offering multiple levels of service all from the same room. Escalations are done instantly ensuring customers don’t get bounced around.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the warehouse opening was just another step forward for CBE as they continue their expansion.

Execs from Sharp made the trip and spoke during the event.

Congratulations to CBE and thank you for including us in your big day.
