Arrow Systems, Inc., known for its new age digital printing systems and materials, and Katun, an expert in premium imaging supplies, have recently joined forces. This alliance blends Arrow Systems’ cutting-edge technology with Katun’s expansive international presence. Highlighting this collaboration is Katun’s newly established division, KDPS (Katun Digital Printing Solutions), launched in November 2023. KDPS is exclusively dedicated to promoting Arrow Systems solutions in the label and packaging market, marking a strategic focus on the digital printing industry.

Renowned for its state-of-the-art digital printing solutions, particularly in labels and flexible packaging, Arrow Systems are now able to team up with Katun‘s extensive network, especially in Europe and Latin America. This dynamic union will boost Arrow’s technological influence while capitalising on Katun’s distribution strengths, with KDPS playing a pivotal role in this union.

At the heart of this partnership lies the promotion of the ArrowJet line, a collection of CMYK single-pass water-based pigment inkjet printers. ArrowJet printers represent the perfect harmony of eco-friendliness and operational efficiency, offering speeds of 1600 x 1600 dpi @27m/min and 1600×954 dpi @45m/min. With low running costs, Nestle Guidance Compliant food safety standards and a 324mm print width – the 645mm print width to be released soon – these printing solutions are tailored to diverse production requirements. The line includes the compact ArrowJet Lite and the versatile modular M-series which enables in-line priming/varnishing for off-the-shelf materials.

In its pursuit of innovation, Arrow Systems is also developing the ArrowBolt series, a future lineup offering up to 150m/min single pass water-based pigment inkjet. The flexible ink configuration (including white or specialty, clear and fluorescent inks), in-line industrial piezo printheads and modular design, coupled with these impressive print speeds, will redefine digital printing capabilities for businesses.

Complementing these printer innovations, Arrow is creating a specialised material lineup, optimised for both the ArrowJet and ArrowBolt printers. Alongside already available materials such as Avery, SIHL, UPM, this new diverse range will serve a multitude of applications, spanning cosmetics to wallpaper and flexible packaging, ensuring Arrow’s solutions remain versatile and industry-relevant.

The strategic alliance between Arrow Systems and Katun, bolstered by the introduction of KDPS, represents a new chapter in the digital printing narrative. Uniting technological ingenuity with an extensive distribution network, they are ready to deliver all-encompassing digital printing solutions that resonate with the evolving demands of a global marketplace.
