Take a look around any modern office today — or hospital or school or factory, for that matter — and you’re likely to witness the sea change in the workplace in all of its handheld, untethered glory. More and more, workers have loosed the bonds of wired desktop computers and been set free to roam the aisles and halls with tablet or smartphone in hand.
A recent study by the analysts at Forrester predicts the number of mobile workers will top 1.3 billion by 2015, or 37.2 percent of the total global workforce — a number that continues to climb with the adoption of ever-more advanced mobile devices. More than 75 percent of those smartphone and tablet will want to be able to print from those devices, Forrester adds.
