Many companies are planning, or should be planning, technology refresh projects for their aging servers. Organizations will benefit in terms of IT efficiency, performance and scalability. There are many reasons to refresh servers including replacing systems that are no longer functional, meeting demands for new business requirements or cost savings based on more efficient systems.
Most hosting service providers will ultimately force their customers to migrate to newer, fully supported platforms so that they can continue to provide the support – and security – promised in their service level agreements, which will not be possible once Microsoft discontinues support for Windows Server 2003 in July 2015.
