  • UBEO Business Services acquires seventh company in a year

AUSTIN, Texas—UBEO Business Services—a premier provider of printer, copier and document management solutions—continues its rapid expansion with AmPan Business Systems, an information technology and services company based in Port Neches. This acquisition marks UBEO’s seventh since April 2018.

The merger is also a reunion of sorts. Jim Sheffield, president and CEO of UBEO, and Greg Hunt, president of AmPan, were colleagues in the early 1990s when Sheffield hired Hunt to work together in Austin.

“Even back then, I knew Greg would be a huge asset to any team,” Sheffield said. “When the opportunity came to do business together again, it was a no-brainer. Given what he’s done with AmPan–cultivating a standard of excellence in customer service and relations–we’re proud and humbled to have AmPan join the UBEO brand.

AmPan was founded in 1994 and is the original authorized Toshiba Multi-Function Products Dealer in the Golden Triangle area.

“The opportunity to join the largest independent dealer in Texas is something you just don’t say ‘no’ to,” Hunt said. “By joining UBEO, we have so many more tools in our toolkit. With all of the different manufacturers that they deal with, they’ve chosen the best of the best.”

While AmPan Business Systems is a UBEO company, it will continue operating under its existing name and will retain its leadership and teams.

UBEO, founded in 2004, continues to position itself for additional growth. The AmPan acquisition adds to UBEO’s operations across Texas, as well as in California and Louisiana. UBEO merged with Sentinel Capital Partners in April 2018, and seven months later acquired Ray Morgan Company, a regional leader in California. Co-headquartered in Austin and San Antonio, UBEO plans to broaden its staff, adding executives, as well as hundreds of open sales positions.
