Rick Dastin, one of the top executives in Xerox Corp.’s technology business, is moving to the other side of the fence to take a top role in the company’s services business.

Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 8.29.23 AMDastin, who started with Xerox in 1981 and today is the Rochester-based president of Xerox Corp.’s office and solutions business group, has been named chief development engineer for Xerox services. According to the company, he will oversee software and technology platforms there, with his initial focus being on improving Xerox’s delivery of the platforms that are the backbone for many of its business service offerings.

In his current role in technology, Dastin is responsible for managing Xerox’s multifunction printer business.
