Toshiba Celebrates 30th Year Manufacturing Toner in Mitchell, S.D

Toshiba America Business Solutions commemorates its 30th year manufacturing toner in Mitchell, South Dakota by hosting an Oct. 14 event at the city’s Highland Conference Center.  Congratulatory presentations from several elected state officials including South Dakota Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels, U.S. Senator

Mike Rounds, Mitchell Mayor Jerry Toomey, Ben Ready, economic development advisor for U.S. Senator John Thune, and Owen Shay, constituent services representative for U.S. Representative Kristi Noem highlight the event.  Mayor Toomey will also present Toshiba Tec Corporation President and CEO, Takayuki Ikeda and Toshiba America Business Solutions President and CEO, Scott Maccabe with a ceremonial key to the city of Mitchell.

Toshiba’s toner producing facility, situated on 25 acres, employs more than 100 people living in the area and is the primary global supplier of color toner for the company’s industry-recognized e-STUDIO copiers.  In June, Toshiba surpassed 50 million kilograms of copier toner manufactured at its Mitchell facility.

The celebration kicks-off at 10 a.m. Central Time Oct. 14th.  The ‘key to the city’ presentation is slated for 10:15 a.m. A half-hour media Q&A is scheduled for 11:55 a.m.  

Media are also invited to attend a ribbon-cutting and butterfly garden dedication at Toshiba’s Toner Products Division at 1:15 p.m. followed by a tour of the facility

The presentations, ‘key to the city’ event and media Q&A will occur at the Highland Conference Center at 2000 Highland Way in Mitchell, S.D.

The ribbon-cutting, butterfly garden ceremony and tour are taking place at Toshiba’s Toner Products Division at 901 North Foster Street in Mitchell, S.D.
