The Business Challenge

Screen Shot 2015-12-14 at 10.31.58 AMWindels Marx was constantly running out of storage space for e- mail. According to IT Manager Dan Klei, “Our lawyers don’t delete emails ever. As such, space on our Exchange server became a problem along with server performance.”

While archiving e-mail on a scheduled basis was the right answer, implementation was difficult. Dan Klei explains that, “Attorneys try to do their own archiving. They lose things, delete things out of their archive. We had problems with people blowing up their archive files.” There was a definite need for a managed solution that would give the IT group more control over protecting and enforcing their archiving strategy.

All Covered’s Solution

Dan Klei meets with his All Covered Solution Advisor on a regular basis just to review the state of the business and new requirements and ideas. At one meeting Dan brought up the problem he had with people blowing up their archive files. “They were right there with the Zantaz solution. These regular meetings really pay off.”

With the most comprehensive range of options for automated file management, ZANTAZ File and Email Archiving Solutions optimize storage resources, reduce IT overhead and increase end-user productivity – while ensuring the long-term retention and instant retrieval of email and files in the event of a regulatory investigation or discovery request.

According to Dan Klei, “Installation was cumbersome but All Covered handled it well. Rollout, once you get the hang of it, is a piece of cake, but All Covered guided us through it and we’re very satisfied with the product.”

Results

Client Satisfaction
Klei says he “Can’t quantify performance, but can quantify space use on Exchange server. Our top user had over 10 gigabytes of email in their mailbox. After archiving with Zantaz that went down to 200mb on our Exchange server, but she still has access to everything she had before directly from Outlook. I can now shrink my whole information store down and performance is just tremendous.”
