Kyocera Corp. (KYO: Quote) reported that its second-quarter of 2013 net income attributable to shareholders increased to 20.28 billion yen from the prior year’s 18.80 billion yen. Net sales for the quarter grew to 368.01 billion yen from last year’s 310.70 billion yen.
The company said it expects to see continued strong sales of solar products in the second half, and have thus upwardly revised its previously announced solar sales target of 1 gigawatt to 1.2 gigawatts for the fiscal year.
For fiscal year ending March 31, 2014, the company still expects net income attributable to shareholders to be 96.00 billion yen or 261.67 yen per share, Profit from operations of 140 billion yen.
The company now expects annual net sales to be 1.43 trillion yen, compared to prior estimate of 1.40 trillion yen.
