In his new role, Cullen will oversee The Cannata Report’s content and platform diversification and expansion initiated in January 2013. In addition, he will work closely with CJ Cannata on business and strategy matters across The Cannata Report’s media platforms.

As editor-at-large, Frank G. Cannata will continue to play a vital role on The Cannata Report’s editorial team and work closely with Cullen to provide his expertise and insight to the business technology industry’s top news stories. He will also work with EVP and Publisher CJ Cannata to oversee strategic growth initiatives for The Cannata Report while maintaining his lead role at MRC providing consultative services, analysis, and opinion to industry leaders worldwide.

“There is no one in the industry better qualified to build on the editorial legacy my father Frank G. Cannata has created than Scott. He is a natural fit on our executive management team and has made an immediate and measurable impact on our business,” said CJ Cannata, adding, “Hiring Scott earlier this year has proven to be the best strategic decision we have made as we strive to evolve and elevate all aspects of our business.”

“It’s an honor to have this opportunity to expand my role at The Cannata Report,” said Cullen. “I’m looking forward to working even more closely with this great team that Frank and CJ have assembled. Together, we are enhancing and strengthening our brand, and building upon the foundation that Frank set nearly 35 years ago. I’m extremely optimistic about our future and the value we will continue to bring to our readers through our coverage, commentary, and analysis of this dynamic industry.”

“The promotion of Scott to editor-in-chief is just one more step towards strengthening the premier media brand in our industry,” said Frank G. Cannata. “Cullen has three decades of experience in the copier/print world and is unquestionably one of our most respected journalists. We could not be more pleased with this appointment.”

Since joining The Cannata Report, Cullen has accentuated breaking news and related follow-up coverage and analysis across The Cannata Report’s digital platforms.  He has also introduced substantial editorial coverage of business modeling, software, IT and other professional services and enhanced coverage of product and vendor news. In addition, Cullen has expanded the contributing editor roster, bringing in writers with strengths in industrial print and related software and solutions.  During his tenure, he has hired industry veterans Toni McQuilken, who has a strong editorial background in the commercial and industrial print segments, and Mark Vruno, most recently an editor of Printing News, who will focus on software in those segments and general content.

Cullen is a distinguished veteran of the document imaging industry and has written for a number of industry publications. He is the founder, publisher, and editor of The Week in Imaging, which he launched in 2009 and subsequently merged with ENX in 2014. Prior to joining The Cannata Report, Cullen served as editorial director of ENX/The Week in Imaging.

The Cannata Report’s momentum is driven by increased coverage of the emerging trends in the industry; an expanded editorial mission that emphasizes technology advancements in imaging and related future workforce essentials; and the overall growth of its hallmark content franchises, including Women Influencers, Young Influencers, Production Print and Out-of-the-Box: Software & Services themed issues. Standouts in The Cannata Report’s recent business expansion directed by Frank G. Cannata and CJ Cannata is the increased influence of its Annual Dealer Survey and corresponding Awards and Charities Dinner. Earlier this month, The Cannata Report’s 2016 Annual Awards & Charities Dinner raised $180,000 to benefit Hackensack University Medical Center and Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Inc. To date, the Cannata Dinner collectively has raised close to $1.9 million for numerous charities nationwide. Additionally, The Cannata Report is significantly expanding its participation and presence at industry-wide events and conferences.

Frank G. Cannata established Marketing Research Consultants Inc. in 1979 and subsequently launched Office Machine News in 1982 and Live Wire in 1985 that he combined under The Cannata Report masthead in 1988. He is an industry icon who has spoken at industry seminars and conferences, trade shows and manufacturers meetings worldwide.
