By Andy Slawetsky – ecoprintQ held their annual Solutions Summit in Miami Beach August 1 – 4. The once a year event allows ecoprintQ to showcase products and services as well as update and train attendees on new technology.

The event was sponsored by a number of vendors, including major partner PaperCut as well as Elatec, Umango and others.

The first night started with a welcome reception at the upscale Miami Beach Edition hotel located right on a beautiful stretch of beach with 90+ attendees, staff and vendors.

After a few hours of mingling and networking, the evening saw the crowd move to the basement bar – a chic techno colored high-end bowling ally/ice skating rink that pumped dance music. ecoprintQ’s Alfredo MIlanes even got into the dancing!

The next day started early with a warm welcome and introductions By Alfredo and Dominick Bracero before the PaperCut crew took the stage to present their aptly titled session What’s Happening at PaperCut! The team provided some history, growth updates as well as a great deal of information about the recently launched PaperCut 18.0.

The event was well-attended with some big US brand dealers sending representatives as well as a large Latin American contingent, which is not surprising given ecoprintQ’s success in that market with PaperCut and Square 9. While some of the event was held in one room, much of it was run in duel sessions with the Latin American group in one and the US in the other.

Later that day, Elatec RFID spent time presenting to dealers to showcase their new RFID readers that will be rolling out in the near future. John Villegas provided an overview on the products Elatec offers and how these state of the art RFID devices fit in with MFPs and printers.

Umango also spent time in front of attendees, discussing their scan and capture products with an overview on document management and how Umango’s services can help dealers achieve more ROI in their deals while simultaneously making the scan applications more powerful. Check out the video of Andrew Wade of Umango below from the beginning portion of his presentation.

The day finished with a nice outside dinner overlooking the Atlantic. Great wine, great company; it was a nice way to end the first day.

The second morning was similar to the first, with training sessions and more presentations from some of the other sponsors. As the event wound down, I took off, but dealers were getting ready for some good old fashion excursions and a lively evening planned for Friday night.

I appreciate the invitation to this event! ecoprintQ is a dealer favorite for PaperCut and a growing list of other products and services. It’s great to come down and see What’s Happenin’ with this growing Miami company!
