By Morgan Chilson crazeywriter – A “scatterbrained” idea by a Logan Business Machines leader morphed into a gift of $75,000 to 55 Topeka-area nonprofits.

Chris Martin, chief operating officer at Logan, said the company has been growing and he wanted to find a way to reach out and help other organizations.

“We’re giving away a total of 75 printers today, worth $75,000,” he said Tuesday. “Really, it just came from having a good year and wanting to just be a Topekan and do what we feel is right with the nonprofits.”
