(Ann Arbor) –UTEC officially acquired Innovative Mailing Solutions, (IMS). Effective June 29, 2018, IMS will be operating under the management of UTEC. After 34 years of providing total mailstream solutions to customers around the Metro Detroit Area, Mike and Sandy Thomas are retiring and starting the next chapter of their lives. The service team from IMS has joined the UTEC team and will continue to provide service from the Warren and Ann Arbor locations.
“The acquisition of IMS will allow UTEC to offer another complimentary product and service to our existing customer base. The product offering continues to make UTEC a leader in customizable solutions for document generation, movement, and retention within the office. Strategically, it gives us a new customer base to expand our traditional
products into” said Kevin Van Kannel, President of UTEC.

UTEC is Sharp’s largest dealer in Michigan. IMS provided sales and service on FP Mailing Solutions, postage meters and mail handling equipment. They were also an authorized dealer for Formax folders and inserters, Secap, Accufast Addressing and Tabbers, Omation Envelopeners and KAS Paper Systems production inserters.
