Nearly 400 Attend DocuWorld 2022 Orlando

After a skipping a couple of years, DocuWorld held their annual DocuWorld partner conference for the Americas in Orlando May 18 – 20. And their 10th anniversary of DocuWare Cloud made it an even more special occasion.

While we arrived on Wed., a user conference began earlier and led into the partner program. With a one-day overlap, there were nearly 400 in attendance.

The welcome reception on arrival day was a nice way to catch up with people I hadn’t seen in ages.

I was surprised by how many people Toshiba had in attendance (dozens). Cconsidering DocuWare is technically a Ricoh company having been acquired in 2019, Toshiba is still a significant DocuWare reseller and there were Toshiba people from all over the country there to find out What’s Happenin’ in content management and workflow automation..

Clearly, Ricoh has left DocuWare alone so far and Toshiba, although a competitor, doesn’t seem to see a need to turn to another provider for content management solutions. It appears to be business as usual.

Ricoh did have some familiar faces at the event as well!

The next morning, the conference began with a welcome from US President Jim Roberts. You can see the first part of Jim’s presentation below where he provides a company update and discusses the conference theme – “Adapt. Automate. Innovate.”

Max Ertl, president of DocuWare was one of many who made the trip from their HQ near Munich Germany. Following Jim’s presentation, Max talked to attendees about DocuWare’s explosive growth over the last several years (see video clip below).

There were several more presentations that morning, including a product update on DocuWare version 7.6 from Tobias Getz. Watch as Tobias shows the audience how DocuWare connects to Microsoft Teams in a short demo.

During breaks, the crowd walked around a small product fair located just outside the general session.

Several sponsors were on hand such as Epson (there for their scanners), Evolved Office and others.

There were a number of dealers at the event as well, including one that was on display as a partner; James Imaging was there showing their SAP integration.

The product fair next to the refreshments ensured a heavy crowd during the breaks and the sponsors were kept busy at periods throughout the day.

The next portion of the event was educational and attendees split off into different tracks based on whether they were there for Technical or Sales.

This was our first DocuWorld and it was impressive. The people there were highly engaged and the short overlap with customers allowed DocuWare to take the conference to another level before getting down to business with their partners.
