Industry needs tailor-made solutions instead of one-size-fits-all

Langenhagen, Germany, 8 April 2019

2019’s Hannover Messe revolved around one key insight: increasing digitalisation in manufacturing processes and establishing a link between these and business processes are essential to improving efficiency and maintaining competitiveness in manufacturing industry. Digitalisation for the sake of having digital processes is clearly not the way to go. “Integrated industry” as a term was coined to underline that the solutions and technologies implemented need to serve the overall company vision. For this, a holistic strategic scheme of internal processes is absolutely essential. Through its close relationship to its customers and also itself being part of manufacturing industry, Konica Minolta understands the advantages of holistic linkage between digital manufacturing processes and digital business processes. The company was able to present a wide array of solutions that exactly meet these customer needs at the Hannover Messe.

“Through our lasting and close relationships, we traditionally gain deep insights into what our manufacturing customers truly need in order to reach their goals, sometimes even before they know themselves. As a company we see it as our duty to help them orchestrate exactly those solutions that tie digital processes into their existing environment,” states Johannes Bischof, President Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH and Business Unit Manager Digital Manufacturing. For SMEs that, for example, need to optimise their production flows or business processes, Konica Minolta provides process analysis and consulting as a basis to tailor solutions like IIoT applications that monitor production to optimise capacity utilisation and quality assurance.

At Hannover Messe 2019 Konica Minolta therefore showcased a whole portfolio of manufacturing process solutions and business process solutions from the fields of IIoT platforms, industrial maintenance and assembly processes, monitoring solutions, logistics solutions, quality management, IT solutions as well as virtual and physical security systems.

“At major industry events like the Hannover Messe, the most important factor for us are the dialogues we have. Our expert teams always enjoy meeting and exchanging ideas with their counterparts, business partners, customers and other stakeholders. The fair offers an opportunity to meet in one place to discuss how our solutions can accelerate business today and how we can give shape to the ideas for the manufacturing of tomorrow,” concludes Johannes Bischof. This year’s fair was a great success for Konica Minolta. Both the increase in booth size and the relocation into the hall 5 with the overarching topic “integrated industry” proved to be the right decision. Around 500 prospects who showed further interest in Konica Minolta’s solutions have been recorded this year.
