Over the course of the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the growing situation with COVID-19; we have paid special attention to the measures put into place by select U.S. States, counties, and local authorities to close non-essential businesses to slow the spread and impact of the virus.
We hope that you and your families are healthy and safe. This global health crisis has impacted many, and we wanted to notify you of new developments affecting our operations. AMETEK ESP has been monitoring this closely and a new development is immediately impacting our North Carolina plant. Effective March 27, 2020 at 5 p.m. local time, a stay at home order for Wake County, North Carolina has been established, and the Knightdale facility of AMETEK, which produces ESP and SurgeX products, will be temporarily shutting down manufacturing operations to meet with state guidelines.
We value the health and safety of our entire team as well as their families, and it is with those interests at heart that the decision has been made to temporarily shutter manufacturing operations for the next 30 days. We are however, still here for you. The sales team will be available and working; our distributor partners still have ESP and SurgeX stock available; and we will continue to process orders with shipping delays until April 27 and we will continue to provide both customer and technical support for all in-field installations as we recognize industry integrators have been deemed essential personnel during this time.
We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks, taking the advisement of the CDC and World Health Organization into account.
