With this latest release, we have extended uniFLOW’s capabilities to include Mopria certification, additional hybrid features, and to support touchless operation of Canon imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, i-SENSYS, Satera devices and Lexmark devices.

Mopria certification

Mopria support allows Android users to now enjoy the benefits of uniFLOW secure printing, and release jobs seamlessly to Mopria certified devices. After installing the `Mopria Print Service` app on their Android device, users can simply print, select the required finishing options, and release the job on any connected uniFLOW printer. Of course, all printing is tracked and accounted to the right user.

The Mopria website www.mopria.org, includes a list of certified products including the supported range of Canon devices. uniFLOW is now listed there under the Print Server category as a certified product.

Extension of the uniFLOW hybrid platform

With the success of connecting uniFLOW to uniFLOW Online, customers over the past several years have had significant benefits of a hybrid system, which bridges the gap between a traditional server-based print and scan environment and a 100% cloud solution.

This release allows users of Canon imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, i-SENSYS and Satera devices, used in a hybrid setup, access to powerful scan workflows deployed via uniFLOW Online (e.g. Scan to Myself or My Filing Assist).

Furthermore it is now possible in such a hybrid environment to not only deploy Canon devices with an embedded applet, but also use our easy device based subscription model for embedded applets with secure print release on devices from other vendors, like Konica Minolta, Sharp, Lexmark, Xerox, Samsung, OKI, Brother, and EPSON.

Touchless operation of Canon imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, i-SENSYS and Satera devices

As businesses across the globe implement their government’s COVID 19 guidelines, organizations are looking for as many creative and practical ways to make their workplace settings as COVID-19 safe as humanly possible, and uniFLOW can help with this. To allow for a touchless operation of Canon imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, i-SENSYS and Satera devices, it is now possible to automatically release all print jobs on these devices upon login.

Updated embedded applets for Lexmark and Sharp

In addition to the above listed new features, also the Lexmark and Sharp embedded applets have been updated, strengthening once more the uniFLOW multi-vendor approach. The Lexmark embedded applet now supports changing finishing options before job release at the device, and also supports touchless operation by automatically releasing print jobs after authentication at the device.

The newest version of the Sharp embedded applet supports the latest generation of OSA®-enabled devices (OSA® 5.x).

Continuous improvements

These new features and improvements demonstrate how uniFLOW continues to keep up with business requirements; expanding its One Platform approach and enhancing its core functionalities to improve product integrity and user satisfaction. There are many additional smaller enhancements included as well.
