SAN DIEGO — 12 November, 2024 — Memjet, a global leader in printing technology, is proud to announce the launch of the DuraCore Print Engine, a scalable printing solution that aligns precision with economy. DuraCore meets market demand for cost-effective print solutions that deliver exceptional print quality and help OEMs fast-track entry into new markets. This versatile print engine produces full-bleed CMYK color for sheet-fed, web-fed, simplex, and duplex printing across a wide range of applications.

Chief Executive Officer of Memjet, Mr Sunil Gupta, explained, ‘We’ve listened to the market and come back with a printing solution that strikes at the core needs of our OEM partners: to deliver outstanding quality and reliability at a cost base that supports strong ROI. DuraCore is a versatile solution that combines precision with profitability.’

DuraCore offers OEMs and print providers with a robust print engine that offers an attractive capital investment profile and total cost of ownership. This powerful solution can be retrofitted into existing systems for maximum versatility and ROI.

Jason Thelander, Chief Technology Officer at Memjet, highlighted, ‘We’ve engineered DuraCore to provide OEMs with a robust, economical print engine that delivers the hallmark Memjet print quality. We’ve equipped it with advanced features like intelligent print head control, precise ink delivery systems, and optimized print algorithms to maximize productivity and minimize waste.’

One of the key advantages of DuraCore is its scalability. The technology is available as a 1×1 Print Engine containing one high-performance, 12.77-inch Thunderbolt printhead or a Tandem Print Engine housing two Thunderbolt printheads for increased speed. DuraCore Tandem can reach speeds of up to 450 feet per minute (137 meters per minute). Each printhead is capable of jetting 150 or 240 litres of ink, and nozzle redundancy varies from 2x to 4x redundancy per colour for enhanced performance.

DuraCore supports a powerful digital front end (DFE) for easy integration into existing systems. Compatibility with a configurable Xitron RIP and Navigator controller means streamlined interaction between the print engine and all aspects of the printing process. ‘Sophisticated data processing is essential to high-end print solutions,’ said Mr Thelander. ‘DuraCore’s is customized to fit the Navigator controller, which provides seamless integration, reducing development costs and expediting commercialization.’

DuraCore is engineered with versatile ModBus architecture that enables OEMs to rapidly design and configure new printing systems without extensive R&D. The print engine is easily reconfigured to serve multiple applications, markets, and price points, providing unparalleled flexibility for OEMs.

DuraCore is suitable for high-quality printing across a wide range of applications, including books, manuals, promotional materials, envelopes, direct mail, transactional and security printing, identification, commercial printing, and packaging applications such as labels and folding cartons. What’s more, it is easily operated by cost-effective, non-expert print operators.
