SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI — Pearson-Kelly Technology teamed up with four local businesses for a BBQ Cook Off to benefit Harmony House, a local domestic violence shelter, on October 16 from 3pm to 6pm at Pearson-Kelly Technology’s Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri.

The event raised $2,960.55 that will go towards building maintenance and provide a safe and comfortable place for victims and survivors of domestic violence to stay. Donations were collected from attendees to pick the winning Pitmaster, a representative chosen from Pearson-Kelly Technology and Guaranty Bank.

This competition brought in over 60 percent of donations, with Nick Lofaro, CIO of Guaranty Bank and President of Springfield Tech Council, taking home BBQ King Bragging Rights against Charles Johnston, Pearson-Kelly Technology Solutions Specialist.

Other donation opportunities included: a “Smash the Copier” event where attendees paid $5 to take 3 swings at a copier with a sledgehammer or bat, an Emergency Donut Vehicle where attendees could purchase Hurts donuts and a 50/50 raffle hosted by Harmony House.
