Konica Minolta has issued a press release stating they will end production at Konica Minolta Business Technologies (WUXI) Co., Ltd. (Konica Minolta WUXI), their manufacturing facility in China.
Konica Minolta opened the subsidiary in 1994. In 2014, they opened another manufacturing subsidiary in Malaysia, transferring some equipment production to this facility. In 2022, no doubt as a result of the Pandemic and subsequent supply chain issues they experienced, Konica Minolta transferred “partial production” of Professional Print machines to Japan.
According to the press release, “The Company will transfer production of Konica Minolta WUXI to its other own production bases (Malaysia, Japan, and Dongguan in China) and continue to ensure a stable supply of the products.”
