By Randy Dazo, Keypoint Intelligence -Earlier this year, Joe Contreras was appointed Head of Sales and Channel Marketing for Epson America’s Office Print division. As one of the major players in the consumer inkjet space, Epson continues to bring this technology into the office equipment dealer market.

The office equipment dealer channel is nothing new to Contreras. With decades of experience working for another A3 MFP manufacturer, he is able to bring his experiences in sales and marketing to Epson with a focus on taking its industry-leading technology to the traditional electrophotographic dealer channel. This, of course, is no large feat as other players have tried and even pulled their equivalent A3 inkjet technologies all together. But Epson continues to double down on its pagewide inkjet array and believes it can complement and even surpass the speed and quality of traditional electrophotographic technologies.

In this Interview Insights, I spoke with Contreras about Epson’s and his approach to bringing technology into the office equipment dealer market. Additionally, we spoke about Epson’s journey during the pandemic, which they were able to weather the storm with A4 products that helped address company’s work from home challenges with equipment for their employees. Epson continues to address the post-pandemic market with a continuum of inkjet technologies for the home, office, and even the production market with large format devices that have the same scalable technology.

Lastly, we spoke about Epson’s marketing in the industry. While others have pulled back their marketing spend, Epson continues to advertise in various mediums with various celebrities for its consumer products business—while, at the same time, bolstering its awareness in the business-to-business space.
