As Amini founder Kate Kallot explains, Africa is one of the most data scarce continents, making it difficult to predict weather. That means uncertainty for farmers and their crops, which are crucial to the continent’s economy, contributing a third of Africa’s GDP and employing about half its population, according to the World Bank.
