By Andy Slawetsky – Canon USA recently held a five-city road show and we caught up with them in Atlanta GA for stop number four. 
In our first live Canon event since 2019, it was great to be back at this conference with their South Eastern Canon USA office technology dealers.
Canon began the general session after lunch when Nathaniel Horenstein gave attendees an update on Whats’ Happenin’ with the Japanese technology company. You can see a clip here.
A discussion on work patterns and print security was a good segue into some self-promotion highlighting Canon’s printer reliability awards from BLI/Keypoint Intelligence as well as the recognition they BLI gave them for their uniFLOW print management software.
Next, Nathaniel introduced AMLOS (Activate My Line of Sight) to a room of nearly 100 sales and technical engineers from local dealerships.
AMLOS is a sophisticated camera and software solution that provides improved collaboration during video meetings.
AMLOS uses a series of specific hand signals that initiates the zooming of certain areas of a screen, allowing people to share things in greater detail. This is good for whiteboard discussions, notes, looking at physical models, etc. It was very interesting to see in action.
After the general session, attendees split into their sales and technical tracks for smaller seminars such as print management solutions from uniFLOW as well as others while we spent time with some of their dealers in a more private session.
Prior to dinner, we were given some demonstrations of AMLOS as well as Canon’s new Label Printers and WHIZ, their new industrial cleaning robot, which will apparently not be coming with googly eye accessories despite my best efforts to change their minds.

Canon also introduced their new ad campaign – Be Your Own Printer Person, a humorous series that should be coming to your market soon.
