Featuring Two Hours of Content on UV Coating Design & Troubleshooting

Topeka, Kansas – Week Four of the Foil & Specialty Effects Association’s Online Spring Summit opens on Wednesday, May 19. To be held virtually, the FSEA Online Spring Summit will appeal to a wide segment of the print community: graphic designers, brand owners, commercial printers, print finishers and binders.

Week Four – UV Coating Design & Troubleshooting – features a conversation with RadTech International North America, highlighting the steps the association is taking to advance the use of ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) technologies throughout a variety of industries, including print and packaging.

The programming continues with a panel of print finishers and industry suppliers – David Hutchison, BrightMARKS, LLC; David Rose, Sakurai USA; Kevin Camblin, UV Specialties – who share troubleshooting tips for specialty UV coating application challenges.

Then, since utilizing specialty UV coatings to enhance a printed piece is more of an art than a science, a panel of print finishing experts – Doug Fontana, The Fontana Group; Christine Yardley, Print Panther; and Matt Greer, DMS Color – takes attendees through the beginning stages of a project and discuss how to best utilize spot UV coatings (gloss or matte), raised UV, glitter UV and more.
