A globally recognised design award has gone to Konica Minolta in further recognition for its flagship AccurioPress C14000 Series of production presses. The technology leader has been named winner of the “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021” after a record number of entries.

Unveiled successfully in October 2019, the award-winning presses – which also included the AccurioPress C12000 – are supporting Konica Minolta’s mission to support the transformation of its customers by sector and industry, predicting potential challenges and creating solutions together.

An international jury remarked on the “outstanding” design of the AccurioPress C14000 Series, which was also recognised in the “Good Design Award 2020” from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion six months ago. The AccurioPress C14000 prints at 140 pages per minute (PPM) in A4 and is 40% faster than any other toner-based machine from Konica Minolta. The AccurioPress provides the same high print quality and a similarly fast speed of 120 ppm.

“Never before in the 60-year history of our design competition have so many companies and design studios faced the professional judgement of our international jury as this year,” said Professor Dr Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot. “Products from 60 countries reached us, and their design quality and degree of innovation were evaluated in a process lasting several days. The fact that Konica Minolta claimed its place in a strong field speaks for the excellent quality of its products. The international jury only awards this sought-after seal of quality to products that feature an outstanding design.”

We are proud and delighted to have won this sought-after global design award. It is further acknowledgement of how we are not only a leader in print transformation, but also in setting new standards in product design, while incorporating automation technology that boosts quality, reliability and productivity. The higher print quality, a printing speed, less manual intervention and greater ease of use also enhance the efficiencies and capabilities for our customers to enable them to reduce costs and build further business opportunities. With dedicated global support delivered locally across the world, we work closely with our customers in a partnership approach and continue to help them rethink print possibilities.
