Function4’s Leadership Wins Award for Contributing to Entire Industry

SUGAR LAND, TX— January 21, 2022 — Function4, a leading managed technology services provider (MTSP), recently announced that Bob Evans, one of the key members of the management team, was named the 2021 “Volunteer of the Year” by the Business Technology Association (BTA). The BTA is an association of independently owned office technology dealerships in the United States, founded in 1926. The purpose of the BTA is to serve office technology dealerships, resellers, manufacturers, distributors and service companies through consultation, providing services, hardware, software and supplies, with the primary goal of helping businesses optimize workflows while increasing their profitability. The “Volunteer of the Year” award is given to one member who demonstrated exceptional initiative in helping fellow members to serve their customers at the highest level.

Evans, principal of Function4, is on the national board of the BTA, which is comprised of various regional groups with its leadership selected through member elections. Even though Evans is a pastnational president of the BTA, his service to his fellow entrepreneur has endured well beyond his term and can be evidenced through his most recent award. “It’s one thing to attend the events, another to utilize the resources,” said Evans. “However, I feel compelled to remain highly involved in this organization because I know how well it serves the members. By collaborating with each other we’re able to leverage our collective mindshare for the benefit of our customer. The BTA helps to keep us all on the leading edge of our industry and exposes us to new innovations ahead of our competitors. I find great fulfillment in helping all of our members to thrive. It elevates the entire industry and most importantly, improves the customer experience across the board.”

In recent years, small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) have expanded their office technology utilization to include IT and managed IT services because the industry as a whole is headed in this direction. Evans has shown himself to be a thought leader in the space and is actively helping to equip other members with the technology and vision necessary to help their customers thrive. “One of the benefits of intending to contribute to your industry is that what you give, comes back around,” he said. “It’s an absolute privilege to learn from our members and to bring the absolute best innovations back to our customers. I hope this award inspires business owners to remember that we’re all in this together and through intentional cooperation, there’s plenty of space available for us all to thrive.”
