In the latest episode of the What’s Happenin’ Technology Podcast, Andy Slawetsky sat down with Justin Rebhun, the newly appointed President of Flex Technology Group (FTG) Texas. Rebhun, who was recently promoted from his role as Vice President of the East region working out of New York, chatted about his transition to Texas and his vision for FTG’s expansion in the region.

From New York Sales Rep to Texas President

Rebhun’s career at FTG began in 2018 at FlowTech, one of FTG’s East Coast subsidiaries, located in New York’s Times Square. Starting as an Enterprise Account Executive, he quickly climbed the ranks, demonstrating FTG’s commitment to internal growth. “One of the best parts about Flex is the opportunity to advance if you produce results,” Rebhun noted. His success led to the recent opportunity to take the helm of FTG Texas, a move he eagerly accepted.

The transition wasn’t without its adjustments. Coming from the structured sales environment of New York, where in-person sales calls were limited, Rebhun had to refine his methods. When in NY, his focus shifted from cold calling to targeting enterprise businesses with phones, email campaigns, networking and other methods.

Adapting to the Texas Market

Since stepping into his new role, Rebhun has been actively reshaping FTG Texas’ go-to-market strategy. Traditionally, the company has served faith-based and education-focused businesses. However, he sees untapped potential in targeting larger enterprise accounts, given Texas’ position as home to more Fortune 500 companies than any other state.

“We are redesigning our approach and putting large enterprise accounts on our reps’ assignments,” Rebhun explained. The plan aligns with FTG’s broader mission of print management (MPS), an area where the company continues to see consistent growth despite industry-wide shifts.

Leadership Challenges and Organizational Growth

Taking over as president brought its share of leadership challenges. At just 33 years old, Rebhun acknowledged that stepping into an established team meant navigating internal dynamics. His priority was ensuring the right people were on board. For Rebhun, building a strong team and fostering a culture of success has been a primary focus. “If you have the right people around you, good things will happen,” he emphasized.

Looking Ahead: 2025 and Beyond

With 2025 underway, Rebhun is focused on making a lasting impact. “FTG Texas is one of the biggest growth opportunities within Flex,” he stated, adding that leadership recognizes the market’s potential and is making strategic investments to support expansion.

Managed print services remain the cornerstone of FTG’s growth strategy. “We have a unique model,” Rebhun said, referencing a PwC study that ranked FTG as the top player in geographic coverage and depth of offerings. With services extending to all 50 states and covering over 900 device models, FTG Texas is primed to penetrate new enterprise accounts.

FTG’s National Kickoff in Las Vegas

Looking ahead, Rebhun is eager for FTG’s national kickoff meeting, set to take place at the Wynn Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. “We’re expecting 400 to 500 attendees,” he said. The event will bring together top performers from FTG’s 19+ subsidiaries, allowing them to network and share insights.

Rebhun closed out the interview expressing excitement about the opportunities ahead. “We’re making big moves in Texas, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to lead this charge.”

For office equipment resellers and industry professionals, FTG’s continued expansion and Rebhun’s leadership transition underscore the company’s commitment to growth and market dominance. Stay tuned for more updates from the upcoming national kickoff in Las Vegas.
