What’s Happenin’ at KDI

Rick Salcedo opened the doors at KDI in 1984. Today, they operate out of six offices in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey offering office technology, IT services, scanning services and more.

With over 130 people, KDI offers copiers and printers from Canon, Ricoh, Lexmark and HP. I had the fortune to visit the Aston HQ outside of Philadelphia, where Rick took me through their main office.

The warehouse was full of hardware as equipment was being staged for customer installations. With the supply chain issues we’re all facing, it’s been difficult to source product for many dealers, but you wouldn’t know it from walking through this building. They were bursting at the seams with copiers and printers that day.

Based on what I saw in that warehouse, KDI is a strong player in large and wide format printing, one of the fastest growing markets in the print world.

Besides executive offices and warehouse operations, HQ service dispatch is also coordinated from this location as they support customers across the mid-Atlantic region.

Next, we popped over to the Delaware office so I could see one of the sales offices where I saw a nice state of the art demo room with big iron from Canon and Ricoh as well as Ricoh collaboration displays that were strategically placed throughout the building.

Of course, no office equipment dealership would be complete without a bullpen and KDI didn’t disappoint. I always love seeing where the reps work and this one was a lot like the one that I worked out of not so long ago.

Like most companies in this industry, KDI is diligently working through the challenging sales environment. But their doors are open and they’re helping customers with innovative technology and strategies that support traditional offices, remote offices and hybrid models.
